Teacher Appreciation Week

Dr. Burke, Principal

Greetings  Panther Parents

As schools across the country remain closed in accordance with stay-at- home orders, teachers continue to overcome obstacles to best serve their students. This teacher appreciation week, May 4 through May 8, students and parents can return the favor. Teacher appreciation week may look different this year, but there are still ways to safely show your appreciation for the hard work and dedication teachers put in year-round.

Below are a few suggestions on how you can say “Thank You” to your child’s teacher(s).

* Flood the teacher’s email or Class DoJo Inbox
      ~ Send a thank you message expressing how much you appreciate them.

* Record a video thank-you
      ~ Just as students miss their teachers, teachers miss their students. Share your child’s smiling face with their teacher(s) by recording a personalized thank-you note.  A video has been a
         great way to stay in touch while social distancing.

 * Show your support with a slideshow
     ~ Put together a slideshow outlining gratitude. All the reasons you and your child can thank your teacher and has undoubtedly made you value the work of teachers more now than ever.
       Channel that experience into a PowerPoint of Praise and Gratitude.

* Give an e-gift card to a local establishment
    ~ Support local businesses and teachers all at once. Every teacher could use a nice lunch from a local establishment. Digitally send gift cards for the nearby coffee shop or other local
       spots close to the school.

* Have a ‘dress like the teacher’ day
   ~ Students dress like their teacher for a day and send a video or picture to their teacher.  Let them take charge and play dress-up for a day.

If everyone does their part, the teachers can feel just as special this year as every other year!

Thank you for your continued support.
